Background
Founded in 2022, the Caledonia Islamic Center (CIC) is the first and only masjid serving the growing Muslim population across Haldimand and Norfolk Counties, including communities from the Grand River to the shores of Lake Erie, reaching towns such as Simcoe and Port Dover.
Located in the heart of Caledonia, CIC currently operates from a rented facility on the 2nd Floor of 29 Caithness Street East, Caledonia, ON N3W 1B7. Despite its humble beginnings, CIC has quickly become a spiritual and communal hub for Muslim families in the region. With Caledonia experiencing rapid residential growth and more Muslim families choosing to settle here, the need for a permanent, purpose-built Islamic center has become increasingly urgent.
CIC is actively exploring opportunities to purchase land or construct a dedicated masjid and community center to better serve the religious, educational, and social needs of the local Muslim population. The vision is to create a welcoming space for worship, learning, and community development that reflects the values and aspirations of the Muslim community in this expanding region.
As a registered Canadian charitable organization, CIC is authorized to issue official income tax receipts for all donations. Contributions from the community play a vital role in sustaining current operations and realizing the long-term vision of a permanent Islamic center.
